Ravi
has 25 years experience in assisting corporate leaders increase
revenue and profits by starting new ventures. He has helped
to grow leading US and European corporations, including Johnson
& Johnson, Hoechst, and biotech startups PrisMedical and
DynaGen.
At
Hoechst, Ravi was recognized for starting the fastest-growing
new business in the history of the company. His client, DynaGen,
was ranked No. 5 in the Boston Business Journal's
Annual Survey of 50 Fastest-Growing Technology Companies.
In
2003, The Global Businesses & Technology Conference selected
Mr. Gupta as one of the world’s foremost experts in
accelerating innovation and in building new businesses that
grow rapidly and become profitable quickly. His education
includes an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.
Before
Momentum, Ravi held senior-management positions at leading
blue-chip corporations and on Wall Street. He was Worldwide
Head of New Ventures in healthcare, electronics and building
materials at the Corporate Ventures and R&D group of Hoechst,
the $30 billion life sciences and materials corporation. Recognizing
his new-venture successes, Columbia University devoted a case
study to him in 2003. Earlier, he started the North American
business for $100 million Dutch company TBP, and Agency
Sales magazine recognized him for “leading the
fastest-growing new business in the 40-year history of the
industry.” He has been featured by Forbes among the
Best & brightest in America.
One
of Ravi’s longstanding commitments is volunteering for
community development and social causes. He is a mentor at
Goldman Sachs-sponsored National Social Ventures Competition,
and at Columbia Business School’s Lang Entrepreneurial
Center. He chaired the alliance panel at the Bio-Defense and
National Security Conference.
Ravi
also loves outdoor adventure and cooking. He wrote the Wilderness
Gourmet Recipe collection for the Appalachian Mountain Club,
one of the countries oldest environmental & heritage associations.
