Anti-Terrorism, Bio-Defense & National/Regional Security
Partnerships For Effective Prevention & Response

Anti-Terrorism, Bio-Defense and National Security require many specialist skills. In one aspect of this, Momentum has internationally recognized expertise. We can help to develop close partnerships among the many different groups working in this area – police, firefighters, emergency medical care, military, defense-intelligence, public healthcare agencies, healthcare facilities, citizen groups, medical companies, research institutions,...

For all these different groups to collaborate with each other, and at a level that has never been done before, requires a very high level of specialist support. Until September 11, in fact, throughout most of their history, these groups worked very successfully and independently of each other, and now, in many cases, a completely new model of collaborative working is necessary.

Military, Police, & Public Health Feedback;
Close Continuous Collaboration Critical

Washington Update April 2004, discussions at government agencies stressed the continuing need for closer collaboration, information-exchange, and ongoing partnership, working for effective terrorism response.
Defense Department Emphasized the need for creating innovative collaborations when it mentioned “The Army will have to adopt new approaches to work with the private sector, encouraging relationships between government and industry,” in a report titled “Army Opportunities in Biotechnology for Future Applications.”.
Public Health & Medical Community Recommend, “Compelling reason to work more closely together than we have in the past and implement cross-functional collaborations. Unless we take action in a timely fashion, contributions to the public good will be diminished.” Recommendations from report of American Medical Association and American Public Health Association titled “Medicine & Public Health, the Power of Collaboration.”.
Homeland Security In a national-call-to-action, the Homeland Security and Defense Director, Tom Ridge, stressed the importance of building a life science BioDefense network.
